Editor’s Note: Spring Commencement is here! During the ceremonies Thursday, May 8, through Saturday, May 10, UNC Charlotte will confer nearly 6,000 degrees and certificates. Read more about the graduates and the ceremonies in this special edition.
Class of 2025: Tassel Turning and Future Focused
The members of UNC Charlotte’s spring graduating class are embracing the future as they kick-start careers, head to graduate school, broaden their horizons through travel or move to a new city and adventurously ask, “What’s next?” Read some of their stories.
Spring Commencement Schedule
- 4 p.m., Thursday, May 8: Doctoral hooding ceremony and conferral of degrees.
- 10 a.m., Friday May 9: Belk College of Business, Cato College of Education and the William States Lee College of Engineering.
- 3 p.m., Friday, May 9: The College of Arts + Architecture, College of Computing and Informatics and the College of Health and Human Services.
- 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10: The College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences and the Klein College of Science.
- 3 p.m., Saturday, May 10: Graduate School ceremony for master’s degrees and graduate certificates.

Bell Ringers Create Lasting Legacy
Sonia Birla, Tye’Quez Wilkins, Uriah West and Justyn Ramseur are the bell ringers for Spring Commencement, a long-standing tradition where distinguished students ring the UNC Charlotte bell. Read more about these remarkable Niners.

Distinguished Faculty Marshals
University marshals are faculty members selected to represent their colleagues at ceremonial functions of the University. Get to know the marshals for Spring Commencement: Juan Vivero-Escoto, Steve Schmid, Kelly Powers, John Taylor and Kirill Afonin.

Commencement Reminders
- Know where to park during commencement and the changes for parking and transportation over the weekend.
- Graduating students are required to have a UNC Charlotte student ID card or mobile ID to enter the graduate area. If you do not have a valid UNC Charlotte ID card, follow the instructions on how to download a mobile ID.
- The University’s clear bag policy will be enforced at Halton Arena for all graduates, family members, volunteers and other visitors. Diaper bags will be permitted.
- The following items will not be permitted in Halton Arena: banners, flags and signs of any shape and size; noisemakers; balloons; umbrellas; and sashes/stoles worn by graduating students that exceed six inches in width.
