‘On The Table’ encourages community dialogue
UNC Charlotte faculty, staff and students can join the conversation about building community in the Queen City on Wednesday, Oct. 23, as part of 2019 On The Table Charlotte.
The University is hosting two sessions in Cone University Center, Room 210. A breakfast session will be 7 to 8 a.m., and a lunch session will be 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Participants will engage in small group discussions during each session. Register to attend.
This year’s topic is “Finding Home: Where Do I Belong?” Discussions will draw on Charlotte’s diversity and how people of various national, ethnic, racial and other backgrounds can share ideas to build a more just and equitable community where everyone belongs.
These discussions are part of On The Table, an initiative that the Chicago Community Trust founded to help create a culture of civic engagement in communities around the country. On The Table forums across Charlotte and other cities spur dialogue and inspire action around a common topic, and introduce people to new perspectives.
