OneIT’s Eric Rhodes has died
Eric Rhodes ’11, who served as an IT system administrator with the Lee College of Engineering, died Aug. 1.
Rhodes, who completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, was responsible for the day-to-day operation of Mosaic computer systems, including desktop and network server machines. He joined the University as a full-time employee in June 2015.
Rodney Dyer, a PC systems programmer with OneIT, stated, “Eric will be profoundly missed on our team. He was the friendliest person I’ve met. Eric was more than just a co-worker. He was a good friend that I could discuss mutual interests we shared about computers and such. We will miss his technical expertise in almost every aspect of what we do, especially in our server room operations.”
No service is planned. Donations in memory of Rhodes can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, his favorite charity, at the request of his parents.
