What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is being a consistent resource for new employees. Onboarding is an integral part of hiring and retention, and my role at UNC Charlotte is to ensure that new employees are equipped with the information they need to make their transition as comfortable as possible. Receiving feedback from our employees that they feel supported and are enjoying their onboarding experience truly fills my cup.
What do you love about UNC Charlotte?
I love the family feeling the University has. There are always opportunities to connect with others and the campus is beautiful.
What are three words to describe UNC Charlotte?
The three words I use to describe UNC Charlotte are progressive, ambitious and green.
What advice do you have for prospective employees?
I advise prospective employees to review all the benefits available to faculty and staff at UNC Charlotte. A major benefit is our tuition waiver program!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I’m relatively new to the Charlotte area, so I enjoy sightseeing. There is no shortage of restaurants to try around town. I also enjoy the many trails and parks surrounding Charlotte.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I’m the founder of God’s into Details, a keloid advocacy platform honoring the beautifully scarred. It’s dedicated to creating a community for individuals with keloid or hypertrophic scarring and encouraging them to live full lives regardless of their skin or body being detailed. I have keloid-prone skin, and it’s such a unique experience, so I created this platform to be the support I needed growing up.
What is your favorite quote?
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right,” Henry Ford.
