Belk College’s Lloyd Blenman has died

Lloyd BlenmanLloyd Blenman, a professor in the Belk College of Business Department of Finance since 1999, died Thursday, April 28.

Blenman, whose area of expertise was international finance, served as editor of the Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting, advisory editor for the University of Guyana Press and co-editor of the African Finance Journal.

He shared his expertise with students at all levels, and he was known for providing rigorous course content. Under his leadership as president of the Midwest Finance Association, one of the major associations in finance, and through his service on the board, the reputation of the association and its related conference grew significantly. He also was instrumental in founding a new partner journal for the association, the Quarterly Journal of Finance.

A graduate of the University of Guyana, Blenman completed a master’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
