Volunteers needed for Fall Commencement
Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Fall Commencement ceremonies to assist at the information tables and ticket office, to pass out name cards to graduates and welcome guests. Register to volunteer.
Commencement ceremonies
- Friday, Dec. 17 (noon to 4 p.m.)
The Graduate School (doctoral, master’s and graduate certificates for all programs) - Saturday, Dec. 18 (8 a.m. to noon)
College of Arts + Architecture, Cato College of Education and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences - Saturday, Dec.18 (1 to 5 p.m.)
Belk College of Business, College of Computing & Informatics, The William States Lee College of Engineering and the College of Health & Human Services
Volunteer orientation
Orientations for all ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 15, (time TBD). All volunteers are encouraged to attend to receive helpful information, tour the arena and pick up their all-access passes to enter the Barnhardt Student Activity Center the day of the ceremonies. Lunch for volunteers will be provided Friday and Saturday.
Attention SHRA employees
SHRA employees subject to the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) who are not normally scheduled for Friday or Saturday work are authorized to receive overtime compensation or compensatory time off if the hours worked for the week are sufficient to generate the overtime situation. Such employees will be paid from funding in the department to which they are assigned. The rate of overtime compensation will be based on the employee’s normal salary.
