Wanted: Interactive activities to engage and educate young minds

Interested in designing interactive, fun and educational activities for kids, ages 4-10? Then we have the venue for you – Charlotte Kids Fest.

A collaboration between UNC Charlotte and University City Partners, Charlotte Kids Fest is a free outdoor festival that encourages kids ages 4-10 to CREATE! DANCE! DISCOVER! LEARN! PLAY! and GO! through hands-on activities that stimulate their minds while having fun.

The festival, the only one of its kind and scale in the Charlotte region, will take place at UNC Charlotte from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9.

Faculty, staff and student groups interested in participating in this year’s event can design activities around six themes:

  • CREATE! Arts and crafts
  • DANCE! Boogie down all day
  • DISCOVER! Performing arts
  • LEARN Science, math, technology, reading and history
  • PLAY! Outdoor activities, sports, games and contests
  • GO! Explore all things on wheels

Register your group to participate, by Friday, Sept. 17. Questions? Email Vicki Doolittle in Community Relations.

UNC Charlotte groups that have participated in past Charlotte Kids Fest’s include UREC; School of Nursing; departments of Anthropology, Kinesiology, Computer Sciences and Mathematics and Statistics; 49er Rocketry team; and the School of Architecture.
