Faculty and staff Commencement volunteers needed
Faculty and staff volunteers are needed at the upcoming May Commencement ceremonies to assist at the information table and ticket office and to welcome guests.
- Thursday, May 13 (volunteer shift is 4 to 8:30 p.m.)
Ceremony for the Class of 2020 - Friday, May 14 (volunteer shift is 7:30 a.m. to noon)
Ceremony for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and The William States Lee College of Engineering - Friday, May 14 (volunteer shift is 4 to 8:30 p.m.)
Ceremony for the Belk College of Business, College of Health and Human Services and College of Computing and Informatics - Saturday, May 15 (volunteer shift is 7:30 a.m. to noon)
Ceremony for the College of Arts + Architecture, Cato College of Education and Graduate School
Orientations for all ceremonies will take place the afternoon of Wednesday, May 12, (exact times to be determined). All volunteers are encouraged to attend to receive helpful information and tour the Jerry Richardson Football Stadium, where all of the Commencement ceremonies will be held.
Note that SHRA employees subject to the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) who were not normally scheduled for Friday or Saturday work are authorized to receive overtime compensation or compensatory time off if the hours worked for the week are sufficient to generate the overtime situation. Such employees will be paid from funding in the department to which they are assigned. The rate of overtime compensation will be based on the employee’s normal salary.
