Campbell named associate director for EHS
Jeff Campbell is associate director for the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, effective Friday, Aug. 31.
Campbell is a safety professional with 20-plus years of experience; he comes to UNC Charlotte from Ohio University where he worked as the occupational safety officer and director of environmental health and safety. Additionally, he served as the interim associate vice president for risk management and safety.
According to University officials, Campbell brings a broad range of experiences in the areas of compliance and managing people and programs, including contractors. He has worked with all levels of management, faculty, staff and students of a university. In his role with UNC Charlotte, Campbell is committed to ensuring compliance with OSHA and state regulatory requirements; mitigating risk throughout the University by developing and implementing safety programs and procedures and enhancing the overall safety culture of the campus.
A graduate of Ohio State University, Campbell completed a Master of Science in Safety and Environmental Management from West Virginia University. He is board certified by the Institute for Safety and Health Management and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and he is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.
