Charlotte 49ers football schedule released
The Charlotte 49ers 2022 football schedule includes eight Conference USA games and a four-game non-conference slate. Seven of the 49ers’ opponents appeared in 2021 FBS Bowl games, including home opponents Maryland, WKU and UTEP. In head coach Will Healy’s fourth season, the 49ers will play six home games and six road games.
Charlotte’s season will open with a C-USA road game at Florida Atlantic Saturday, Aug. 27. This is the first time in program history that Charlotte will open its season with a C-USA game
The 49ers will move their home opener to Friday, Sept. 2, against William & Mary. The 49ers will then welcome Maryland out of the Big Ten to Richardson Stadium Sept. 10. Charlotte will travel to Georgia State (Sept. 17) and South Carolina (Sept. 24) to wrap up the non-conference schedule.
The C-USA schedule has Charlotte facing UTEP, FIU, WKU and Louisiana Tech at home and traveling to Florida Atlantic, UAB, Rice and Middle Tennessee.
2021 bowl teams on the schedule
The 49ers 2022 slate includes seven games against 2021 FBS bowl teams. Three of the 49ers non-conference opponents won bowl games in 2021 (Maryland, Georgia State and South Carolina). Charlotte will face four C-USA schools that advanced to bowls (UTEP, UAB, WKU and Middle Tennessee).
Note: all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date, along with game times.
