UNC Charlotte’s education honor society chapter recognized
The Omicron Pi chapter of Kappa Delta Pi continued won a trio of awards at the honor society’s 55th convocation in St. Louis, Missouri.
Charlotte’s Omicron Pi chapter received its sixth Achieving Chapter Excellence Award from for its outstanding programming in support of the society’s mission and strategic goals.
For Kappa Delta Pi’s signature service initiative, the Omicron Pi chapter was one of three to receive the highest recognition – Gold Award – for its Celebration of Teaching, a daylong event for teachers and school partners in the Charlotte region to celebrate, honor and advocate for the profession. The Celebration of Teaching included inspirational keynote speakers and educational authors Adam Davico and Lindsey Acton, networking opportunities and education camp-style sessions.
Omicron Pi chapter counselor Misty Hathcock and associate counselor Debra Diegmann were recognized for 15 and five years of service, respectively, to Kappa Delta Pi.
Chapter officers Jena Degioanni, Julia Rohlfing, Abigail Ahrens, Morgan Pressley, Allie Whitestone, Sarah Camden, Lori Glavan, Daniel Acree and Logan Ellis attended this year’s KDP Convocation.
