Atkins Library collecting campus COVID stories

Categories: General News Tags: Atkins Library, COVID-19

UNC Charlotte students, staff and faculty members who are interested in sharing their personal experiences during the coronavirus outbreak can participate in a project led by the Atkins Library Special Collections and University Archives.

The University’s official response to this unprecedented event will be recorded and preserved in the University Archives as a result of records management policies governed by state laws. There are no such provisions in place to ensure that personal experiences and reactions are included in the permanent archives, which is the reason for this Atkins Library project.

How to participate

The method of recording of personal thoughts during this time period is up to the participant. Some suggestions include writing in a journal, recording voice memos, saving social media posts, taking photos and/or videos of life as you see it, or creating multimedia works of digital storytelling.

The University Archives can accept just about any format created, but prospective contributors who have questions or need technical assistance should email Tyler Cline (Tyler.Cline@uncc.edu) or Katie Howell (Katie.Howell@uncc.edu).
