Call for commencement speakers, bell ringers
The Dean of Students Office is seeking student speakers and bell ringers for UNC Charlotte’s Fall Commencement ceremonies (Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15). Faculty and staff are requested to encourage students graduating in December to apply for one of these prestigious honors.
Prospective speakers must submit a copy of their two- to three-minute speech and a YouTube link of their video submissions with their applications by 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10; email submissions to deanofstudents@uncc.edu.
Finalists will present their speeches to a selection committee on Friday, Oct. 19. Speakers are encouraged to utilize services provided by the University Speaking Center.
Speakers should be graduating students of high academic qualifications and who demonstrate excellent character through leadership, service and school spirit. Bell ringer is an honorable tradition that recognizes outstanding student leaders who have demonstrated exemplary 49er spirit within organizations, volunteerism and/or service to others. All applicants must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and be in good disciplinary standing.
