Visiting trumpet professor to perform Faculty & Friends Concert
Visiting trumpet professor Eric Millard will perform a Department of Music Faculty & Friends Concert at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 25, in Rowe Recital Hall.
Millard was formerly the third/associate principal trumpet with the Tallahassee Symphony; he has performed with the Boise Philharmonic, Ballet Idaho, Pensacola Symphony, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Northwest Florida Symphony and Albany Symphony. As a soloist, he has won prizes at prestigious competitions such as the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition, Music Teachers National Association Solo Competition and the U.S. Army Band National Collegiate Solo Competition.
Pianist Amy Nungesser will join Millard for the Sept. 25 concert. Among the works on the program are J.S. Bach’s Concerto in D Major (After Vivaldi) and “Adios Nonino,” by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.
Tickets are $10 for the public and $8 for seniors, students, veterans and UNC Charlotte faculty, staff and alumni.
