Belk Plaza conceptual plan to be revealed April 11
The final Belk Plaza forum will be 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, April 11, in the Cone University Center. At this event, there will be a short presentation by key members of the LandDesign team to reveal the conceptual plan for the plaza’s transformation.
According to facilities management, the plan will provide imagery based on the culmination of ideas expressed at previous public forums and stakeholder work sessions. The imagery provided will illustrate the intent for the new aesthetic and the planned organization of the Belk Plaza spaces in plan, section and perspective with supporting imagery.
After the conceptual plan is revealed, attendees will have an opportunity to provide feedback through image preference exercises at feedback stations and with design team member during discussions.
LandDesign, a Charlotte-based firm, was hired to work with the Belk Plaza Design Committee, appointed by the chancellor, to develop recommendations for an improved aesthetic and functional design for the Belk Plaza.
Two public forums were held in February 2016 to solicit feedback for the conceptual design.
