Title IX workshops to focus on ‘The BasIX’ and ‘The DynamIX’
The Title IX Office and the Center for Wellness Promotion are sponsoring the two-part workshop series “Forty IXers: Know Your Title IX.” The first event, “The BasiIX” is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 376. “The DynamIX” will be at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 21, in CHHS, Room 376.
During “The BasIX,” attendees will learn how and where to report sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking, as well as on- and off-campus resources available to students through interactive and scenario-based discussions. Find out what UNC Charlotte does to respond to, investigate and adjudicate reports of sexual and relationship violence. Applicable laws and what they mean for students will be discussed, too.
The second workshop, “The DynamIX,” will be a highly interactive presentation that helps define the Title IX topic areas of stalking, relationship violence and sexual assault. There will be a discussion about statistics, rape myths and victim-blaming, and attendees will learn ways to help themselves and friends using bystander intervention methods.
