Adams rejoins University’s Student Affairs Division
Jonathan Adams is a familiar face at UNC Charlotte; he recently returned as associate dean of students and director of student conduct and outreach.
During Adams’ first UNC Charlotte tenure, from January 2010 to July 2012, he was assistant director of student conduct and outreach. During that time, he worked closely with the review, investigation, adjudication and management of student conduct violation cases. For the past two years, Adams was associate director of student conduct at Appalachian State University.
“One of the biggest draws for UNC Charlotte is the creative spirit of the institution,” said Adams. “We are willing to stretch and try new things in order to better serve our students and the community.”
From his previous experience working with the Office of Student Conduct, Adams is familiar with the challenges associated with the quickly changing landscape of the profession and higher education. He said he hopes to continue to build the reputation of the office as a place students, faculty and staff can respect, trust and turn to for resources and support.
Adams, originally from St. Stephens, Ala., is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from Appalachian State University. He received his master’s in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.
