Special Accreditation Reaffirmation Issue
Editor’s Note: This special issue of Niner Insider contains important information about Charlotte’s upcoming reaffirmation of accreditation process and SACSCOC visit.
Reaffirmation of Accreditation at Charlotte
Charlotte is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s and doctorate degrees. Every college and university accredited by SACSCOC must undergo a reaffirmation of their accreditation every 10 years. Charlotte is a candidate for reaffirmation in 2023. Our on-site reaffirmation review will take place from Monday, March 20, through Thursday, March 23. The four-day visit will consist of interviews, a presentation of our Quality Enhancement Plan and an exit conference.

Charlotte’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
A QEP is an integral component of the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process. It affirms a commitment to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on a topic that Charlotte considers important to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success.
Our newest QEP is NINERways, which focuses on increasing student success in the quantitative reasoning requirement of the University’s general education program. This will be achieved by designing math course(s) that successfully transition and prepare students for their major and enhancing the mathematics classroom learning environment.
