Bailey “Boo” Vannoy, an outfielder/catcher for the Charlotte 49ers softball team, is ready for the season to kick-off Thursday, Feb. 9, v. South Carolina. Get to know the graduate student from Leander, Texas, recently named Conference C-USA Preseason Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

• A pair of upcoming contests for the Charlotte women’s basketball team will be aired live on 730 The Game, ESPN Charlotte as the Niners begin the second half of the Conference USA season.
• Bobby Rosinski, host of “The Afternoon Rush” radio show on ESPN Charlotte, will host a live remote from Halton Arena Thursday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the 49ers men’s basketball game v. FIU. Game time is 7 p.m.
• Reminder: Learn more about the process of a SACSCOC visit and Charlotte’s Quality Enhancement Plan, NINERWays: The Path to Math Success, at a virtual town hall for faculty and staff Monday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 3 p.m. or Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m.
• The UNC Charlotte Children’s Choir is scheduled to resume Monday, Feb. 6. This free, 13-week program provides students in grades three through five the chance to participate in a choral ensemble.
• Register to attend the inaugural Diversity Scholars Forum Friday, Feb. 17, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This forum features graduate student and postdoctoral research related to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.
