Police and Public Safety undergoing reaccreditation process

As part of its accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the UNC Charlotte Department of Police and Public Safety (PPS) must undergo an assessment every four years. PPS first earned this international distinction in 2016 and is currently undergoing its first review cycle. 

Staff members named Employee of the Year

Four UNC Charlotte staff members were named 2020 Employee of the Year. A recipient was recognized in the categories of Community and Public Service, Devotion to Duty, Innovation and Safety/Heroism.Community and Public Service

University mourns loss of Roy Fielding

Former senior lecturer of Kinesiology Roy Fielding died Friday, May 15.Fielding, who had been a fixture at UNC Charlotte from 1977 through his recent retirement, served as lecturer, aquatics director and senior lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology. UNC Charlotte’s Belk Gym Pool was named “The Roy R. Fielding Aquatic Center” in his honor.

Student Government Association recognizes Baker, Whelan

UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety Chief Jeff Baker and Belk College of Business Lecturer Brian Whelan are the recipients of the Student Government Association’s 2019-20 Staff Member and Faculty Member of the Year Awards, respectively.

Staff member has a passion for rescuing animals

Diana Hill is a staff auditor in the Division of Institutional Integrity on campus, but, she also is a dedicated volunteer with the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.
