As part of the independent external review of the University’s response to the events on April 30, representatives from the National Police Foundation, the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and other members of the assessment team will be on campus to conduct listening sessions for the community.In addition to recent surveys soliciting input, these listening sessions are an opportunity to share feedback about changes or improvements the University should consider going forward.

UNC Charlotte alumni are making significant contributions to the University, their communities and their chosen professions each and every day.  The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association is actively seeking nominations for its 2020 awards class. The deadline to submit a nomination for this year is Friday, Jan. 24.

Alyson Ebaugh is a self-described lifelong learner. Throughout her previous roles as assistant director of human resources at Appalachian State University and global training director for Samaritan’s Purse, Ebaugh established goals that stayed the same: help adult professionals become lifelong learners, too, and to ensure they learn well. 

A book by UNC Charlotte Africana Studies associate professor Oscar de la Torre has received the inaugural Outstanding First Book Award from the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora.

UNC Charlotte recently received its fiscal year 2019 audited financial report from the Office of the State Auditor. The report showed no findings and no material changes to the University’s exhibits. These results display the strength of UNC Charlotte’s financial position and its internal controls.

As a reminder, on Dec. 31 of each year, any employee with more than 240 hours of accumulated vacation leave will have the excess amount converted to sick leave so that only 240 hours are carried forward as vacation to Jan. 1 of the next calendar year.

During winter break, the flooring of campus parking decks will be replaced, which may cause minor disruptions, such as limited access to elevators and construction noise and debris. The approximate schedule of outages is below.

The following projects are scheduled and may cause disruptions Monday, Dec. 16, through Tuesday, Dec. 31.
