Charlotte Core seeks faculty reviewers
Charlotte Core, in the Office of Undergraduate Education, is recruiting faculty reviewers to rate student work aligned with the new general education requirements.
Reviewers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 22-23, for critical thinking competency and on May 29-30 for communications competency. A stipend is being offered for reviewers’ participation across the two days.

Deadline for AV integration project requests
The deadline for submitting requests for new audiovisual projects funded in fiscal year 2024 is Friday, March 22. To ensure consideration for completion using this fiscal year’s funds, submit all requests by the deadline.
Teresa Petty appointed associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of University College
Teresa Petty has been appointed associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of University College, effective July 1. She currently serves as senior associate dean in the Cato College of Education and professor in the college’s Department of Middle, Secondary and K-12 Education.
José Gámez appointed dean of the College of Arts + Architecture
José Gámez has been appointed dean of the College of Arts + Architecture, effective July 1. He currently serves as interim dean of the college.
Register for the Psychological Safety in the Workplace Webinar for Charlotte Employees
Psychological Safety in the Workplace, part of the virtual 2024 Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees, is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 13.
This webinar is designed to explore the definition of psychological safety, its importance in the workplace, how to foster a psychologically safe attitude and strategies necessary to support it.

UNC Charlotte seeks reaffirmation of Community Engagement Classification from Carnegie Foundation
UNC Charlotte is seeking reaffirmation of its community engagement classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. urbanCORE, the hub of the University’s engaged scholarship ecosystem, is leading the reaffirmation process.
UNC Charlotte earned its original classification in 2008, and it was reaffirmed in 2015. Currently, 368 institutions have received the Carnegie community engagement classification, 18 of those institutions are in North Carolina.
