Remembering Polly Rogers
It has been almost a year since Tim Rogers lost his daughter, Polly, in a bus accident in Charlotte. His many friends at UNC Charlotte, touched by the life that Polly Rogers lived, are helping Rogers honor his daughter by building a sensory garden within UNC Charlotte’s Botanical Gardens.

Earth Month activities to make campus greener
A tree planting, an Earth Day Festival and the spring Campus Cleanup are just some of the activities planned by Facilities Management to encourage the University community to become more aware of and involved in environmental issues throughout the month of April.

‘An American Marriage’ author to deliver TIAA Lecture
New York Times bestselling author Tayari Jones tackles the issue of wrongful incarceration in her latest book, “An American Marriage.” She will discuss her research for the book and her creative writing process during the 2019 TIAA Lecture, scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall. (Note, this is a location change since the initial publication).

Annual UNC Charlotte Center City Literary Festival scheduled
The English Department and UNC Charlotte Center City are teaming up to present a spring festival of literature on Saturday, March 30.
The daytime event will feature a variety of children’s storytelling, organizations and fun creativity stations for kids. In the evening, award-winning authors Tony Earley, Hannah Dela Cruz Abrams, Patrice Gopo and Allison Hutchcraft will hold readings, discussions and book signings.

Lisa Lewis Dubois inducted into Women’s History Hall of Fame
Lisa Lewis Dubois is among the newest inductees of the Women’s History Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes women in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region who have made significant contributions civically, socially and politically.

Crowdfunding projects continue to seek support
