Bistro 49 to host ‘Homegrown Dinner’

The “Homegrown Dinner” at Bistro 49 is expected to be among the fall semester’s most delicious events. Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, the four-course meal will feature seasonal local meats, cheeses and produced prepared by campus chefs.

Seating is limited for this event, which costs $20 per person; for individuals 21 and older, it is “bring your own wine” (with proof of age).

To reserve a spot, stop by Bistro 49 by Monday, Oct. 7.

The menu will be:

  • First Course: Baked farm egg with cauliflower puree, crispy smoked bacon, shitake mushroom, fried garlic
  • Second Course: Crispy cornmeal chicken Livers with mountain apple and celery leaf salad, pepper jelly vinaigrette
  • Third Course: Lamb Kaftka with Abruzzi rye tabbouleh, Turkish baba ghanoush and pickled fall squash
  • Fourth Course: Spaghetti squash tart with “Carmelita” ice cream and bourbon glaze
