Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger to perform in Student Union
Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger will perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Student Union. This free, public event is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board.
For more than 30 years, Trefzger has “given life” to a trunk full of comical characters in her performances worldwide to corporations, colleges, theatres and aboard cruise ships. Her vocal illusion talents introduce audiences to characters, such as a drunken, yet lovable camel; a grumpy old man; and a feisty little girl. Members of the audience often are selected to come on stage and participate in the routine.
Trefzger is the recipient of numerous honors, including Variety Entertainer of the Year and Comedy Entertainer of the Year by National Association of Campus Activities. Corporate America magazine nominated her for Best Female Performer, and Campus Activities magazine named her “Funniest Female.”
A premiere entertainer for Disney Cruise Lines, Trefzger also has performed for Crystal and Norwegian Cruise Lines. She and her cast of characters have appeared on ABC, TNN, A&E and Lifetime programs, and she was featured recently in the NBC Universal comedy/documentary “I’m No Dummy,” which chronicles the art of ventriloquism; Jay Johnson and Jeff Dunham, two fellow ventriloquists, appeared in the documentary, too.
