State internship program director to visit
Stephanie Nantz, executive director of the N.C. State Government Internship Program, will host an informational session with University faculty and staff members at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Cone University Center, Room 341.
The N.C. State Government Internship Program provides paid internships for students of all majors at a host of state agencies, including the departments of Environment and Natural Resources, Justice and Revenue, as well as the General Assembly. Opportunities exist for both undergraduate and graduate students who are permanent residents of North Carolina.
In summer 2014, two UNC Charlotte students received internships through this competitive program. A psychology major worked with the Department of Health and Human Services and a computer science major worked with the Department of Public Safety. These students will be at the information session to discuss their experiences.
Refreshments will be provided at the information session; email Anna Salas (anna.salas@uncc.edu) with questions about the event.
UNC Charlotte students can learn about the internship program and receive assistance with application materials at additional events, which are all part of the University Career Center’s Career Development Month.
