CAB to host YouTube sensation Todrick Hall
YouTube sensation Todrick Hall will speak on creating one’s destiny during “The Todrick Hall Experience” at 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall. The event, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), is free for UNC Charlotte Students with ID.
Best known for his YouTube videos, namely “The Wizard of Ahhs” that has more than 11.7 million views, Hall crafts creative productions that take a unique spin on popular songs and movies. Hall’s upcoming MTV docu-series, “Todrick,” focuses on the writing, choreography and production of the weekly YouTube parody videos done by Hall’s collaborators, and their dream to make it big in Hollywood.
Following his successful “Twerk du Soliel” world tour in 2014, which sold out shows in Los Angeles, New York City and London, Hall is finishing his second world tour “Toddlerz Ball.”
Hall, who has found fame and fortune by using unconventional methods, had his first shot at fame as a semifinalist in 2010 on Fox’s “American Idol.” Afterward, Hall began posting videos to YouTube rather than waiting to be discovered by Hollywood.
