Inaugural Alumniner Weekend – Return, Reunite, Rediscover
UNC Charlotte’s gold and silver anniversary Classes of 1966 and 1991 will be in the spotlight for the first Alumniner Weekend, but this event will be an opportunity for all alumni and their family and friends to return to campus, too.
Scheduled for Friday, April 8, through Sunday, April 10, Alumniner Weekend will include reunions for Greek organizations, the Student Government Association and student media participants.
“Alumniner Weekend encourages our 49er alumni to re-connect with the University and each other, and this is the perfect chance for us to celebrate their accomplishments and build alumni traditions,” said Jenny Jones, executive director of the UNC Charlotte Alumni Affairs Office.
Planning for this inaugural Alumniner Weekend was conducted in conjunction with representatives of various alumni and affinity groups.
Events for April 8 include an alumni awards celebration, half-century induction ceremony and chat with James Tabor, professor of religious studies. Brunch with the chancellor, campus tours and a “Party at the Pavilion” are on tap for April 9, and the weekend concludes April 10 with Niner Day at Carowinds.
Weekend and individual event packages are on sale now for Alumniner Weekend with early-bird pricing through Friday, March 25. Click here for the complete weekend schedule.
