Business affairs hires first division director of communications
Christy Jackson recently joined UNC Charlotte as the first director of communications for the Division of Business Affairs.
Reporting directly to Vice Chancellor Elizabeth Hardin, Jackson will manage the communications of the vice chancellor’s office and develop a strategic communication plan for the division. Additionally, she will work closely with the Office of University Communications and other campus partners to integrate business affairs communication objectives with those of the University.
Jackson was the director of media, marketing and communications at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, where she led the college’s crisis communication strategy during its closure announcement in March 2015.
Prior to her appointment at Sweet Briar, she was assistant director of university relations at Radford University.
She began her career as the public relations coordinator for the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, where she also served as the college’s interim director of the Office of Public Relations and Communications.
Jackson completed a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations and a master’s degree in corporate and professional communication, both from Radford.
