Panelists to discuss ‘Latinos and Health Care’

The mid-1990s heralded a new Latino South, during which the Charlotte region became a destination for Latino migration. This wave shows no sign of cresting and is expected to continue as a major demographic trend for years to come.

“Latinos and Health Care,” an interactive community conversation, will explore health care issues concerning the Latino population, barriers to adequate care and steps taken to address those barriers. This free, public event will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, at the Levine Museum of the New South; registration is required.

Panelists for this event will discuss the diversity of Latino immigrants in Charlotte, how different social determinants impact health care and actions for improving health care for this growing population.
