Learn more about the Internal Audit staff
Normally, the Internal Audit Department includes five employees. Currently, there are three internal auditors in the department.
Raheel Qureshi has been with the University’s Internal Audit Department since June 2013. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) with an MBA from Pace University. Prior to UNC Charlotte, Qureshi worked in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche and, more recently, at TIAA. He has served as interim chief audit officer since September 2016.
Diana Hill came to the University in 2004 from the American Red Cross. Her experience has been in internal audit and various accounting functions across multiple industries. Hill strengthens the team by providing background information and a wealth of institutional knowledge. Outside of work, Hill enjoys caring for animals; she has provided a home for many pets. She also has learned to rehabilitate injured wildlife.
Julie Earls came to UNC Charlotte in June 2013 from the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor. She is a CPA and a certified internal auditor with a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Tennessee. She noted her favorite parts of working in Internal Audit include meeting employees all across campus, mentoring students and providing quality assurance. Beyond the office, she spends time with family, visits the beach and reads.
“We love to work with our campus partners to ensure their units are working efficiently and effectively, are compliant with laws and regulations and follow best practices,” said Earls.
