Career Carnival returns on Aug. 23
The University Career Center’s Career Carnival will transform the Barnhardt Student Activity Center food court on Thursday, Aug. 23.
Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., students will have an opportunity to try their hand at classic carnival games, such as Hi-Striker, Frog Launcher and Milk Can Toss, or less traditional games like Virtual Roller Coaster or Air Racer. In between games, students can snap a picture with Norm, grab some cotton candy or a snow cone, get a face-painted tattoo or claim a T-shirt prize.
This free event, held for the first time last year, attracted more than 1,200 attendees. During the Career Center’s 2018 carnival, students can connect with employers and campus partners informally. Campus units participating include the Offices of Volunteer Outreach and Education Abroad and the University Center for Academic Excellence. Representatives from up to 15 employer sponsors, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Cardinal Solutions, Fast Enterprise and FedEx Ground, will be on hand to talk with students about job opportunities and provide recruiting tips.
