Faculty/staff invited to open house for High Team Challenge course
The Chancellor’s Health and Wellness Committee and Venture Outdoor Leadership are partnering to provide faculty and staff members the chance to experience the High Team Challenge course (HTC) for free between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27.
“While there many learning outcomes and group dynamic issues you can tap into in our courses, the one that is often the most powerful for participants is vulnerability. Can you push yourself to stretch your comfort zone? Can you ask for and accept help and encouragement? Can you offer support for others to stretch their comfort zone?” said Shaw Hipsher, assistant director of Venture Outdoor Leadership. “These questions of trust and vulnerability are just as pertinent to the functioning of a small group on the HTC as it is to that same group back in the office attempting to meet departmental goals.”
RSVP to participate in this open house by Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The HTC features a variety of elements and is a valuable team-building activity and learning experience that is regularly available at reduced rates for faculty and staff members. Visit venture.charlotte.edu to schedule an office/unit event and learn more about other programs.
