New office names part of Student Affairs realignment
The Multicultural Resource Center, Religious and Spiritual Life, Latinx Student Services and Student Advising for Freshman Excellence (S.A.F.E.) have merged to become the Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement. The name reflects the office’s goal to create opportunities for education, development and engagement for students, while keeping in mind their various intersecting identities.
The mission of the Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement (IEE) is to provide students an affirming and equitable environment that is committed to fostering a campus community that celebrates and supports the expansion of identities.
Also, as part of a divisional realignment in Student Affairs, the Center for Leadership Development and the Office of Volunteer Outreach have merged to become Leadership & Community Engagement. They are committed to teaching students leadership skills based on standards set by the larger global society. Through the use of individual programs, retreats and experiential learning, students develop lifelong leadership skills that can be utilized within diverse student community settings.
The offices of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity are now working together as one unit under the Dean of Students. In an effort to support goals of the University, Student Conduct & Academic Integrity is committed to upholding the values of Noble Niner by encouraging appropriate student and community responsibility, while helping students understand their rights in order to create a great experience within the campus community.
These changes were effective starting with fall 2018.
