University Chorale to usher in the holidays

The University Chorale, under the direction of Randy Haldeman, will perform a holiday concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, in the Anne R. Belk Theater in Robinson Hall.

Divided into three themed sections – “Ghosts of Christmas Past,” “Ghosts of Christmas Present” and “Ghosts of Christmas Future,” the program features beloved traditional carols, such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella” and “The Holly & The Ivy,” as well as contemporary choral works.

As one of the University’s oldest traditions, the University Chorale is comprised of students from departments across the entire campus. Under Haldeman’s direction, the Chorale has enjoyed significant artistic growth in recent years and now includes several concerts a year, a weekend choir retreat and periodic European tours. Admission is by audition.

Tickets to the Dec. 3 concert are $8 and can be purchased at the Robinson Hall Box Office, online or by phone at 704-687-1849.
