Dance alumna receives research fellowship
Dance alumna Lillian Willis ’17 was awarded a Short-Term Research Fellowship from the New York Public Library for the project, “Seeking Accessibility: American Dance Practices for the Blind and Visually Impaired.”
She will spend August in New York City doing research. In recent years, Willis has served through the UNC Charlotte Office of Disability Services as a movement mentor for dance major Davian Robinson, who is visually impaired.
For the 2019-20 academic year, Willis will be part of the Transitions Dance Company and the master’s program at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where she will pursue an MFA in Dance Performance. Read more about Willis here.
