Nursing School director to lead statewide council

Dena Evans, director of the UNC Charlotte School of Nursing, has been elected president of North Carolina Council of Higher Education.

Evans was selected for a two-year term as leader of the organization composed of deans and directors from Schools of Nursing in North Carolina. She will begin her term July 1, 2020.

The council serves the people of North Carolina by improving the practice of professional nursing through advancing the quality of baccalaureate and graduate programs in nursing. It also provides a forum for discussion of issues of primary concern to baccalaureate and higher degree programs, responds to legislative matters and serves as a united voice on major issues affecting baccalaureate and higher education in nursing.
