Day of Remembrance planned for April 29

This year’s Day of Remembrance will begin Friday, April 29, providing the UNC Charlotte community opportunities to gather and observe the three-year anniversary of the April 30, 2019, campus shooting that took the lives of Riley Howell and Reed Parlier and physically injured four other students.

On that day, students, faculty, staff, alumni and all members of the Niner family may take part in activities designed to remember Howell and Parlier and reflect on the impact of their lives and this event on Niner Nation.

The Day of Remembrance will include a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Kennedy Building at 5:40 p.m., Friday. The wreaths, one for Howell and one for Parlier, will remain in place until 5:40 p.m., Saturday, April 30.

A complete schedule of Day of Remembrance events is on the website NinerNationRemembers.charlotte.edu.
