Chancellor launches two new initiatives for faculty, staff
UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber is launching two new faculty and staff initiatives that will focus on ensuring the University remains a great place to work.
Breakfast with the Chancellor
Gaber will launch a monthly Breakfast with the Chancellor starting in January. These informal sessions will give Gaber an opportunity to hear what’s on the minds of UNC Charlotte faculty and staff, answer questions and discuss topics of interest with them.
“I’m looking forward to hearing from faculty and staff on various topics, taking questions and hearing firsthand their ideas on how we can support our students and the University,” Gaber said.
One session will be held each month from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. starting Thursday, Jan. 26. There will be no formal agenda, and a complimentary breakfast will be provided to all participants.
Additional dates for spring semester are:
- Monday, Feb. 27
- Monday, March 20
- Thursday, May 4
Faculty and staff who are interested in attending a session are asked to sign up through an online form. Sessions dedicated to students will be announced in the future.
Online idea form
The Chancellor’s Office also has launched an online form where faculty, staff and students can share ideas on how to make an existing process more efficient or how the University might improve an institutional policy or procedure.
“Earlier this semester, I challenged faculty and staff to look for ways to streamline our processes and to reach out with suggestions,” Gaber said. “At the suggestion of Faculty Council, we’ve created an online form to formalize this initiative. Together, we will continue to find innovative ways to create positive outcomes for our students and our University.”
Suggestions will be shared with members of the University Cabinet for review and consideration.
