Dave Verrill named to national committee
Dave Verrill, a lecturer in the Department of Applied Physiology, Health, and Clinical Sciences, recently was elected academician for clinical exercise testing and prescription by the American College of Sports Medicine Committee on Certification and Registry Boards.
In this role, he will assist ACSM with certification initiatives and exam development for clinical exercise physiologists, a master’s level certification for individuals working to enhance the physical, social and economic independence of patients through risk reduction behavior change.
Previously, Verrill served as president of ACSM’s Clinical Exercise Physiology Association and is a fellow of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. For more than 20 years, he has practiced as a clinical exercise physiologist and lab director and has contributed to many scholarly publications that prepare students for certification and rehabilitation leadership.
