Your favorite fall activities revealed
Fall means cool weather, cozy nights in and fun activities that only feel right in the fall. Take a look at what the UNC Charlotte community thinks are some of the best fall activities.
Pumpkin Frenzy
It wouldn’t be fall without pumpkins! Many Niners love going to the pumpkin patch with their significant others, friends and family. There’s Charlotte Knights Pumpkin Patch, Carrigan Farms, Hodges Farm Pumpkin Patch among others.
Who could forget pumpkin carving, pumpkin pie and eating and drinking pumpkin everything?
But if you’re not a pumpkin fan, apple picking with friends is another great choice. Check out Sky Top Orchard, Carrigan Farms or Perry Lowe Orchard.
Scary Movies
Tis the season for scary movies! There’s “Hocus Pocus,” “Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Halloween,” “Casper,” “Scream,” “Twilight,” “Nightmare Before Christmas” and other Halloween movies. Which is your favorite?
Football and Family Time
Fall football is a great way to get in some family time, whether it’s watching it on TV or being in the stadium.
Speaking of football games, don’t forget to purchase your ticket for a Charlotte 49ers game. Check to see what tickets are available for faculty and staff, students and recent graduates.
Fall Decor and Foliage
Many Niners enjoy hiking, watching the leaves change and taking in the crisp fall air.
The mountains are a great place to escape and hike with friends. Grandfather Mountain, Black Balsam Knob, Crowders Mountain and more are within two hours from Charlotte.
If you’re wanting to stay close to home, the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens isn’t far away.
One student expressed their love for fall through decor.
“My favorite fall activity is to decorate my apartment with ambient warm lighting, candles, and plenty of blankets! Such a cozy space to come home to after a busy day of school.”
A more unique activity loved by one of our Niners is sailing in the open fall breeze.
Have an amazing fall and hopefully you try some of these activities for yourself.
