Faculty & Staff: Back to School Special Edition
Editor’s Note: Welcome back to campus, faculty and staff!
What Has UNC Charlotte Been Up To?
We’ve been busy all summer long getting ready for students, faculty and staff to return to campus. From dining to research, to Niner Central and the bookstore, see what we’ve been up to.
Health, Safety and Well-being
We are dedicated to keeping our campus healthy and safe — physically, mentally and emotionally. Please make sure to know the resources available to you and reach out if you need them.
Mental Health and Well-Being: An important resource available is the Employee Assistance Program, which provides free, confidential counseling and resources on financial, legal and work-life matters. Download the Ginger app, which offers confidential, on-demand emotional and mental health support through coaching via text-based chats, self-care activities and video-based therapy and psychiatry.
NinerReady: Be NinerReady by downloading the LiveSafe app and the CMPD app. Please program the Campus Police numbers into your cell phone: 704-687-2200 (emergency) and 704-687-8300 (non-emergency) and learn more about NinerAlerts and NinerNotices.
Tips for Staying Healthy:
The start of school increases the chance of catching a respiratory virus — such as a cold, flu or COVID-19. Make sure to practice good health habits like washing your hands often, sneezing into your elbow and staying home when sick. Check out Niner Nation Cares for the latest information and additional tips for keeping yourself and others safe.
Parking & TRansportation
From parking to Niner Transit to the light rail, PaTS is here to help you get where you need to be.
Parking Permits: A parking permit, or payment of a visitor’s fee, is required to park on campus any time the University is open. Purchase your permit at MyPark.
CASSI: CASSI is an electric, driverless shuttle that seats up to eight passengers and an attendant and is free for anyone to ride as part of Niner Transit Service.
Niner Transit Red Route is Back
: The Red Route provides express transit service along an abbreviated Silver Route to alleviate passenger demand during peak ridership times. It operates weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Transit Pass: Faculty and staff can buy a CATS All-Access Transit Pass for $75 a year.
Real-Time Updates: Download PassioGO! for real-time Niner Transit tracking, routes and schedules.
Niner Paratransit:
Individuals with mobility impairments can register for disability transport. Requests are processed and scheduled quickly.
