In honor of First-Generation Celebration Week, meet two first-generation Niners, Lorenzo Hopper, assistant professor in public health sciences, and senior Mark Mistretta, a biology honors and interdisciplinary studies student and president of the First Gen Niners student organization.

- The Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking a faculty member specializing in applying artificial intelligence in teaching and learning to serve as a faculty fellow on generative AI.
- Faculty and staff members who work with upcoming graduates are requested to share the First Destination Survey, which opens Thursday, Nov. 9, for their completion.
- The IRS contribution and benefit limits have been updated for 2024 for supplemental retirement plans. View the limits and instructions on how to enroll or make changes.
- Attend CORE Series for faculty “Community-Engaged Learning Community Meets” from November 2023 to May 2024.

- Don’t miss tomorrow’s Atkins Out Loud, where Charlotte dance students, accompanied by Director of Music Shamou, will present a series of improvised dances and give audiences a peek behind the scenes at the scores that prompted their creation.
- UNC Charlotte’s inaugural Golden Hack: Impact Weekend ignites student innovation and collaboration.
- The Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement is holding an identity and intersectionality training from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 265. Learn about the interconnected nature of race, class and gender, how overlapping systems of discrimination are created and how IEE approaches these identities.
- The Student Health Center offers COVID and flu vaccines for students, faculty and staff and free at-home COVID tests. Get your vaccines before the holidays to help protect you and your family.
- An in-person panel discussion and networking opportunity will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Atkins Library, Halton Reading Room. The panelists will include an international student alumnus, a current F-1 visa student, an immigration attorney, an F-1 friendly employer and a member of the International Student and Scholar Office. Panelists will discuss internships and job searches in the U.S. related to curricular and optional practical training.
