Engineering Seniors Jump for Joy

FACULTY & STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Niner Nation King Week, Jan. 12-19, offers opportunities for learning, dialogue, engagement and service.
- Business and civil rights leader Harvey B. Gantt, Charlotte’s first Black mayor, comes to campus for Niner Nation King Week.
- Get started with Poll Everywhere by learning to use the student response software to create engaging learning environments at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11.
- Adam Reitzel, professor of biological sciences and co-director for CIPHER, was named Faculty Fellow of Grant Writing in the UNC Charlotte Graduate and Postdoctoral Writing Center.
- Learn to leverage Canvas analytics to identify students in need during this workshop at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan 11. Sign up now!
- The Office of Undergraduate Research is accepting submissions for faculty project descriptions for the 2024 OUR Summer Research Program.
STudent ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The 2024-25 FAFSA is now available. Review resources and timelines, which have changed from previous aid years.
- All students are automatically opted into the Niner Course Pack program, which includes the billing of all required physical and digital course materials to your student accounts at $20 per credit hour. You have until Wednesday, Jan. 24, to opt out of the program and have the charges removed. You may still purchase or rent new, used and digital materials through Barnes & Noble Charlotte.
- Commuter students may be eligible to enter a lottery by Friday, Jan. 19, to upgrade their parking to a student premium permit for an additional fee. Selected students will be notified by email and must pay for the upgrade in the PaTS Office. If you bring a car to campus this semester, you must have a parking permit, which is on sale now. Annual permits expire Wednesday, Aug. 14.
- CATS All Access Passes are now available on the CATS-Pass App. Download the app to ride LYNX light rail and CATS buses. Just show the driver or fare inspector your pass when requested.
Attend an Upcoming event
- Students are invited to write or draw their goals and aspirations for this semester on a “motivation mural” from noon to 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 252.
- Niner Nation King Week, Jan. 12-19, offers opportunities for learning, dialogue, engagement and service. Charlotte’s first Black mayor and business and civil rights leader Harvey B. Gantt will address the Charlotte campus community during Niner Nation King Week.
- Register for the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute’s 2024 Schul Forum at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City from 1 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1. Explore, with national and local experts, the spaces where people connect in the Charlotte region and how these areas foster connection or create barriers to economic prosperity.
