FivE talks scheduled for annual great decisions lecture
The Dubois Center will host in-person opportunities for the Great Decisions lecture series, a national program of the Foreign Policy Association, which allows citizens to meet, discuss and learn about some of the issues facing the world. The hybrid event, co-sponsored by the Office of International Programs, will feature five lectures between Jan. 31 and Feb. 28.

- Priority registration for UNC Charlotte’s Camps on Campus opens for faculty and staff today!
- The abstract submission form for UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Research Conference opened today and will close at 5 p.m., Friday, March 1.
- Register now for an online workshop at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, to learn strategies to support students as difficult events impact the world.
- The Turnitin plagiarism detector no longer detects AI-generated content in assignments. Faculty can alternatively use ZeroGPT as a free AI detection tool. The University is currently exploring possible alternative solutions.
- 49er Mart users can attend a virtual forum from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25. Registration is encouraged on the Learning and Development Portal, and more information can be found on the 49er Mart Message Board.
- Learn more about offering a globally networked learning course during a hybrid info session from 3 to 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 207.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The abstract submission form for UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Research Conference opened today and will close at 5 p.m., Friday, March 1.
- Student Health continues to offer Covid-19 and flu vaccines for students. The next campus vaccine clinic will be held at UREC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, and appointments are required. Additionally, free at-home Covid tests are available at the Waddell Center for Student Health and Wellbeing.
- Students are encouraged to submit proposals by Friday, Feb. 9, for the conference, “Media Literacy Matters: Current Landscape, Student Actions and Future Directions,” sponsored by the Critical Media Literacy Collaborative.
- University Policy 309, Responding to Allegations of Misconduct in Research and Scholarship, has been revised in response to a request by United States Office of Research Integrity based on current federal regulations.
ATTEND AN UPCOMING EVENT
- Register for the 2024 Great Decisions Lecture Series coordinated by the Office of International Programs. The first lecture, “Pandemic Preparation,” is Wednesday, Jan. 31.
- Student Niner Media is hosting bestselling author and alumnus Joe Posnanski for a talk at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 200. Posnanski, a former sports editor for the Niner Times, is most known for writing about baseball.
