Duo – a gift for most employees
Starting today, most employees* and sponsored guests who use Duo now only need to change their NinerNET password every 365 days–no more changes every 90 or 180 days. Duo adds an extra layer of security; it’s no longer necessary to change passwords as often.

Jan. 31, 2019.

December graduate accepted into prestigious Venture for America program
“Actually, it was here that I realized I wanted to be an entrepreneur,” said Miguel Avila during an interview in the 49er Foundry, the student business incubator at UNC Charlotte. Avila, a Belk College of Business senior, will graduate at Fall Commencement.
Recently, he was chosen to join the Venture for America (VFA) Fellowship program after a highly selective process. With more 2,400 applications for the class of 2018, the program extended offers to less than 18 percent, and Avila is the first UNC Charlotte student so honored.
A first for Fall Commencement, UNC Charlotte to hold three ceremonies
Winter break is approaching, but the University still has a major celebration to undertake. December is a time to honor the accomplishments of UNC Charlotte graduates, which the University will do during Fall Commencement, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15.
Enrollment Management sponsoring Community Service Day
Enrollment Management is hosting a “Service to Our Community Day” on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Employees can participate in an arts and crafts event between 8 and 11 a.m. or 1 to 5 p.m. in the Cone University Center, Room 210. Volunteers will make all-occasion cards, bracelets, necklaces and signs or paint small items for Meals on Wheels, Shoebox Ministry and Joyful Hearts. J. Murrey Atkins Library will host a campus-wide celebration of Charlotte’s 250th anniversary on Monday, Dec. 3, the official date of the founding of the Queen City.

A new collaborative effort called the Bridges to Baccalaureate Program is designed to help students at UNC Charlotte, Gaston College and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College complete undergraduate biomedical degrees and, ultimately, succeed in biomedical careers.

All faculty, staff, student employees and sponsored guests must enroll in Duo two-factor authentication by Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, to access single sign-on (SSO) services (e.g., Gmail, Banner, Canvas, Drupal). Duo two-factor authentication provides an extra layer of protection to keep accounts and information safer and more secure.
