Candidate forum for vice chancellor of student affairs

Kevin Bailey, a candidate for the position of vice chancellor for student affairs, will deliver a presentation from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, in Cone University Center, Lucas Room. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, which is open to the campus community.

Prospective attendees should email RSVPs to Anna Clark (anna.clark@uncc.edu) by Thursday, April 13.

2017 Staff Council Chili and Cornbread Cook-off winners named

Chris Maynard, a staff member in Travel and Complex Payments, was the big winner in the Staff Council’s annual Chili and Cornbread Cook-off, held Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Cone University Center Lucas Room.

Maynard’s chili recipe placed second, her cornbread recipe was judged the best, and her serving station won best décor. John Stephens from ITS took top honors for his chili recipe; while Niambi Ivery, CRES, was voted fan favorite.

Suzanne Jasmine from the Belk College of Business placed second in the cornbread competition.

In light of the recent allegations of sexual assault involving UNC Charlotte students, I write to address some of the concerns I have heard from members of our campus community and the public, and to give some broad context regarding how, what, and when we communicate when serious issues like these arise.
