Diverse: Issues in Higher Education has ranked UNC Charlotte No. 21 in the nation for graduating African American students with bachelor’s degrees in all disciplines combined in its 2022 Diverse 100.

UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber, a faculty member and several alumni and board members have been named to The Charlotte Business Journal’s inaugural Power 100 list. 

The list, released Sept. 30, highlights the leaders who will drive the Charlotte region’s next stage of growth.  

UNC Charlotte has been recognized among the best in the nation for its outstanding diversity and inclusion efforts. The University is a recipient of the 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.

UNC Charlotte rose eight spots in the 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report rankings for undergraduate colleges and universities.

UNC Charlotte has been named to “America’s Best Employers by State” list by Forbes; the University ranked 44 out of the top 100 employers in North Carolina.

A highlight of this year’s University Convocation, the event that traditionally kicks off the start of a new academic year, was the elevation of Charlotte’s high-impact learning experiences.

UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber and several University alumni and board members are on the 2022 Business North Carolina Power List. 

Key staff members from offices representing North Carolina’s federal Senate and House of Representatives visited UNC Charlotte for a Congressional Staff Symposium, “Shaping What’s Next at an Emerging Research University,” to learn about the University’s rapidly rising research profile.

On a perfect spring day from a location regarded as the academic heart of UNC Charlotte, and in the presence of more than 600 special guests, Sharon L. Gaber was officially welcomed on April 19, 2022, as UNC Charlotte’s fifth – and first woman – chancellor.

This partnership will focus on building better lives and communities through opportunity and workforce development.
