West Deck maintenance scheduled

Parking space lines in the West Deck will be repainted between Monday, July 30, and Thursday, Aug. 2. The deck will remain open, but users should expect rotating entrance and space closures.

The north entrance will be closed July 30, and the south entrance will be closed on July 31.

Construction barricades and equipment will be on site; exercise caution when approaching work areas.

Retirement reception scheduled for Phil Jones

Phil Jones, associate vice chancellor for facilities management, will retire Friday, Aug. 31, after nearly 18 years of service.

A retirement reception in his honor will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, in the third floor salons of the James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center.

Intermittent lane closures scheduled along Alumni Way

Beginning at 7 a.m., Monday, July 23, through 4 p.m., Monday, July 30, there will be intermittent lane closures along Alumni Way to repair curbs and pavement associated with the construction of the new Admissions and Visitors Center.

Expect barricades and construction personnel and equipment in the area; flaggers will assist with traffic flow. Anticipate travel delays during working hours.

Remember to exercise caution when approaching construction areas.

Temporary power outage scheduled for Union Deck

The Union Deck will be without power between 9 a.m. and noon, Friday, July 20, to test the generator and emergency circuits as part of the deck expansion project.

The elevator will be inoperable during this outage.

Maintenance work on East Deck 1 scheduled

Parking spaces will be repainted in East Deck 1 and exterior pressure washing will occur between Thursday, July 19, and Friday, July 27.

The deck will remain open during this maintenance; however, expect rotating parking space and area closures. Watch for construction equipment and personnel.

Approach work zones will caution.

Parking Lot 21 temporarily closed for repaving

Parking Lot 21 is unavailable while it is being repaved. Alternate parking suggestions are Lot 20, Lot 25 and North Deck.

Expect construction equipment and personnel in the area; Aug. 3 is the expected completion date.

Sisco needs shared leave

Ashley Sisco, Facilities Management (Design Services), needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through July 24.

To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements and participant forms in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or in the literature racks outside of the Benefits Office, King Building, Room 207. Sidewalk closure near Rowe and Winningham

Sidewalks in front of Winningham and Rowe Arts Buildings will be closed temporarily through Monday, July 16, to replace brick pavers as part of the Belk Plaza Revitalization project. Entrances to these buildings facing the plaza will be inaccessible.

Expect barricades and construction equipment and personnel. Temporary fencing will block sidewalks, and signage will route pedestrians away from the work area.

Reminder – exercise caution when approaching construction zones.

Sidewalk closure between ASB and Cameron shifting south

The sidewalk closure between the Auxiliary Service Building (ASB) and Cameron Hall will shift south beginning Monday, July 2.

Expect egress in and out of the east Cameron Hall door to the sidewalk. Access to the ASB door will be from Craver Road, and access from Lot 16A to main campus will be through the McEniry Building. Fencing will be around the closure area.

This temporary closure is scheduled through Friday, Aug. 10, to install underground utilities associated with the new science building.

New turn lane along Cameron Boulevard to remain closed through July 13

A recently constructed right-hand turn lane on Student Union Lane will remain closed through July 13 to enable movement of construction equipment to install the stair and elevator tower for the Union Deck expansion.

Expect large construction equipment (crane) to be parked in this turn lane and possible traffic delays. Vehicles will continue to exit onto Cameron Boulevard as originally designed until the lane opens.
