New web resource offers compilation of diversity goals among campus units

Employee Engagement Survey underway
UNC Charlotte is participating in the UNC System-wide Employee Engagement Survey, which launched Tuesday, Feb. 4. All permanent employees at the University are encouraged to participate; the deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020.

Construction to affect PORTAL Service Drive
The entrance to PORTAL Service Drive and ADA parking will be closed from 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, through 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, for construction related to the hotel/conference center.
Teachers Observing Peers: Schedule a visit this semester
Faculty members interested in incorporating greater active learning in their classrooms have the chance to observe their peers from a variety of disciplines as they implement techniques in a live or online classroom setting. The Center for Teaching and Learning’s Teachers Observing Peers (TOP) program is an informal, voluntary observation between faculty, and it is for professional purposes only.
Genest needs shared leave
Jennifer Genest, Academic Affairs, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through Feb. 12.To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements and participant forms in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or in the literature racks outside of the Benefits Office, King Building, Room 207. UNC Charlotte is closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak in China and the related cases reported in the United States. There have been no reported cases of the virus involving the UNC Charlotte community. Read more.
Faces – Nassim Nozartash
Nassim Nozartash joined New Student & Family Services in July 2019 as its assistant director. In her role, she helps students and families transition to University life during SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) and throughout their first year as 49ers.

Once again, it is time for staff members to vie for the title of top chef. Whose chili, soup or cornbread is the best?Find out at the UNC Charlotte Staff Council annual Chili, Soup and Cornbread Cook-Off on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Faculty and staff members can stop in between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Cone University Center, Lucas Room, to vote for their favorite chili, soup and cornbread recipes.
